A native of eastern Ohio, I graduated from Miami University. During the 1980’s, I taught middle and high school age students in rural West Virginia where I met and married my late husband. After graduate school, I provided early intervention technical assistance and developed professional training materials at the University of South Carolina Center for Disability Resources.
I have a deep appreciation for the landscape, history and rich culture of Appalachia – a region often misunderstood or underrepresented in popular literature.
Now retired, I live on several acres near the Blue Ridge Parkway with my partner Tim, our black cat and our English Labrador Retriever. I garden, read, write, and take courses online. I’m intrigued by the various wild animals near my home, and I hope they enjoy wondering about me, too.
Crossing Charry Ridge is my first novel. I learned much from writing it. I hope you will enjoy reading it.
